The Dalian International Symposia and Exhibition on Chromatography (DISEC) was held June 4-June 7, 2007 in the Dalian World Expo Centre, Dalian, China. During the event, Elsevier, the leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and service, held a series of activities celebrating the 50 years for the analytical chemistry journal the Journal of Chromatography. During the celebrations, the Science and Technology Daily conducted an interview to Patrick Jackson, Publishing Director for Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at Elsevier, and Colin, senior editor of the Journal of Chromatography, who talked about the factors that make of a successful scientific journal. Those include: an excellent team of editors, efficient publishing means and communicate scientific knowledge to the media. They also talked about the development of Chinese scientific journals and expressed optimism in this field. |
